Mickey Theis performs Eddie Cochran’s 1958 hit. Cochran’s dextrous, high-energy guitar-playing—paired with his songs about teen angst and disenchantment—made him a rock ‘n’ roll icon despite his untimely death at age 21. A pioneer in the genre, Cochran is considered an influence on early punk bands like the Sex Pistols.
